GENUINE COWHIDE LEATHER

Genuine cowhide is the most common leather used in varsity jackets, not just because of its wide availability and low cost, but because of its toughness, durability, and resistance to water and dirt. It offers great protection. Varsity jackets with cowhide leather sleeves are made from drum dyed, lightweight cowhide leather. This leather has shiny finish and breaks in quickly.

FAUX LEATHER

Faux leather has a similar look and feel to genuine leather, while being much more affordable. Some people prefer faux leather simply because no animals are harmed in the making of the material. Faux leather is made from a machine, which ensures that the fabric has an even, consistent color throughout.

MELTON WOOL

Wool Melton fabric is a thick, heavy, tightly woven fabric with a heavily brushed nap, giving the material a smooth finish with no visible weaving yarns. This fabric is available in a variety of colors. Best for varsity jackets and hoodies.

COTTON FLEECE

Cotton Fleece is a knitted fleece with one smooth side and one brushed side, which yields a soft nap. Sourced from luxurious natural cotton, cotton fleece is less bulky than synthetic fleeces, but is nevertheless celebrated for its absorbency and warmth retention. Cotton fleece is best for varsity jacket and hoodies.

POLYESTER SATIN

Satin weaves have a smooth, lustrous surface and possess the best draping qualities out of all the weave structures. Satin are made of fine silk and cotton yarns as well as manufactured fibers such as rayon, acetate, and polyester. Varsity jackets and hoodies of satin look great.
